other excellent tutors have joined us, in the Maryland/D.C./Virginia area, as well as
Boulder, Colorado.
In addition, we do many phone sessions with students who do not live near us. Phone sessions work very much like in-person sessions - the student has his material in front of him, and the tutor has it as well. Some students do all sessions by phone, even when they live nearby. There are few more convenient ways to get help in school! And they are very effective.
Tutoring can be short term, or long term. And it is very effective. Suzanne and her staff are very good at this!
Sometimes parents want us to devise a study plan that can be augmented with local tutors, near where the student lives. This is also very easy to arrange.
Sometimes parents don't know if the student needs a tutor for long term or short term, or more than once or twice. This too, is easy to arrange. An initial session occurs, and then Suzanne assesses and discusses alternatives with the family.
So if your child seems "too" stuck, don't hesitate. We can find solutions, and Suzanne's approach is to tutor in such a way that the student is moving toward independence the whole time, rather than an approach that might encourage dependency on her.
