Reading

Last year's SAT scores were recently released by the College Board.  We learned that Critical Reading scores on the SAT went down, in fact, it was the largest drop in the last 31 years.

Critical Reading is a signficant skill we want for our children.  It means they can read, and think about what they read, and get a lot out of it.  Critical readers, and critical thinkers are able to get the most out of all the treasures that great thinkers, storytellers and historians have left for us in books.

They are also most able to succeed in math.

Math?

Even Math.  Knowing how to read math is like having a built in tutor, and tour guide.  It helps students sort, and retrieve, and understand more deeply.

This year, Newton's Window is going to help you turn our kids into readers.

We are going to give you ideas for new readers. And for older readers. Technology has its place, but not too much.  Turn off the power, and you'll be turning on the power of your children's minds.
